Air enters the back of the unit and is filtered through a polytron washable filter (this filters particles down to .5 microns!).  The cool air enters a heat absorption chamber, which is heated by three 500 watt halogen heat lamps.  The warm air flows slowly out of the front of the unit about sixty degrees warmer.  The heat is a radiant heat.  Our unit provides a very comfortable heat source because it uses INDUCTION; combining the warm air coming out of the front of the unit with the air already in the room - in order to provide COMFORTABLE HEAT.  The HEAT stays on the floor where we live,   Not on the ceiling where we don't!  Our unit does not dry out the air like other heat sources; i.e. central heating from heat pumps or electric baseboard heat. Typically, central heating systems blow out a large volume of air at a very high speed. This air zooms to the ceiling, making it 15-20 degrees warmer at the ceiling. The striation between ceiling and floor with our TOTAL ZONE CONTROL HEATING SYSTEM is ONLY about 2-3 degrees.

The Thermostat, located on the lower section of the metal can, is calibrated before it leaves the factory. Because of the design of our unit, there is virtually no HEAT from inside the unit which would give a false ambient temperature reading to the thermostat. The SUN AIRE Ductless Furnace typically raises the ambient temperature of the air coming into the unit by 60-70 degrees. i.e. If the air coming in the back of the unit is about 60 degrees F., the air coming out the front of the unit will be about 130 degrees F.

One of the tests performed on our prototype was to place it in a large walk-in cooler. The temperature in the cooler going in was a constant 36 degrees F and the temperature coming out of the SUN AIRE Ductless Furnace unit was 110 degrees F. This demonstrates the SUN AIRE Ductless Furnace will operate even in extreme conditions.

Another wonderful design feature of our SUN AIRE Ductless Furnace units are the THREE light inspection holes located in the floor of the cabinet. When the unit is ON, you can tilt it slightly to the side and you will see THREE small light spots on the floor under it when ALL three lamps are lit. A simple and easy method to make sure the unit is operating at full capacity with ALL 3-500 watt lamps running.

The SUN AIRE Furnace units are on 2" rollers with an 8+ ft. long electrical cord, thus making the units not only portable, but also eliminating the use of extension cords in most cases.
